Comments:  remember seeing a Dyrospeed at Skegness in about 1983, and thought it was the best thing I’d ever seen. Loved the fogging and pinstripes, and I vowed then to own one eventually. Well it’s taken 21 years and I finally got what I wanted. I had to have all original parts fitted, Fresco, seat etc… or it just wasn’t worth doing. After looking long and hard I eventually found the necessary bits and decided to push ahead. I chose a friend of mine to do the painting, Alan Turner in Goole, who has done an amazing job for “mates rates”, I’ll be buying him beer for the next 21 years at least !

After chatting to a few people I decided to go for the Rapido 225, a close Mate, Jim gave me his jetting details, which so far have proven spot on (thanks Jim), altho’ I’m still running in the scoot pulls all 5 gears a treat, and has already hit 60 no bother.

There are a few things I want to add a little later, such as a legshield toolbox, again sprayed by Alan and a hydraulic internal disc. The latter I’ll take from my other GP, Babe Ruth as I have an external disc to fit to that one.

Must say big thanks to Paul and Wayne at Get Smart, who have assisted me, in the final assembly of the scoot in time for this years IOW rally. They really pulled the stops out to finish the scoot off for me whilst I was stuck working in Scotland. Thanks also must go to Ian Hepworth, Tom Petch, Jem Booth, Howard Chambers, Bob and Will Vincent, Gary Worsfold and “Foxy”, who all provided parts, advice, photos etc… and encouragement, when all seemed lost ! Oh ! and not forgetting Paolo who has allowed my Scoot onto his prestigious website !
